Retro Touch – A 60´s Style Dress

My journey back in time through style continues: this time something “retro” evoking the 60´s – The time of the Beatles and “free love” among many other social revolutions, also identified by its bold fashion as seen in the film “ Austin Powers ” … vinyl garments, platforms, color blocking, bold eyelashes,  bulky hairstyles,  as well as colors wigs, and above all – Sack Dresses, like this Sheinside model, which not only fascinated me for its colorful and sixties remembrance, but because of its ambiguous quality that I almost always look for in a garment: a practical dress for all seasons and one which can be appropriate in all settings without looking overdressed. For this release I didn’t go completely over to the styling of those days … simply adjusted the outfit  to my everyday life … –

Yo continúo con mi viaje por el tiempo a través del estilo: esta vez algo “retro” evocando  los 60´s –  La época de los Beatles y el amor libre entre muchas otras revoluciones sociales, tambien se identificó por su moda de rasgos pintorescos, tal y como se recrea en la película “Austin Powers”…  prendas en vinil, plataformas, color blocking, pestañas postizas, cabello con volumen así como pelucas de colores,   y sobre todo – Talegos, como este modelo de Sheinside, que no solo me fascinó por su colorido y remembranza sesentera, sino por su cualidad ambigua, lo que casi siempre busco en una prenda de vestir: un vestido práctico en todas las estaciones, y con el que se puede estar siempre a tono sin lucir sobrevestida. Para esta nota no quise acudir totalmente al estilismo de aquellos días…simplemente incorporé el atuendo a mi cotidianidad…
