Outfit Post – A night at ” The Villa ” on Ocean Drive

One thing to do in Miami if you fancy a bit of a glamourous night out, is to have dinner at ” The Villa by Barton G “, an exclusive restaurant located within the compound of a well to do hotel on miami´s famous Ocean drive in South beach.  You may or may not know this building was Gianni Versace´s former home, and tragically the place where he died in 1997 at the hands of killer Andrew Cunanan.  It creates a lot of interest amongs tourist and locals alike, any night of the week you will find people and their cameras hard at work.  A previous booking is required to attend and there is a dress code. Upon arrival the front gates are locked, you can only get in if you have made your booking via telephone.

Algo por hacer en Miami si estás en busca de una noche glamourosa, es cenar en ” La Villa de Barton C ” un exclusivo restaurante ubicado al interior de uno de los mas famosos hoteles en Ocean Drive en South Beach. Puedes o no saber que este esdificio fué una vez el hogar de Gianni Versace y trájicamente el lugar donde murió en 1997 a manos de Andrew Cunanah, lo que crea un gran interés entre turistas y locales por igual cualquier día podrás encontrar personas con sus camaras listas para lograr una foto en frente de este sitio. Una reserva previa es requerida para asistir así como código de vestuario. A la llegada las rejas de la entrada están selladas y solo puedes ingresar si tienes reserva telefónica.

Once inside, the elegant structure tells a story, and I can´t help but imagine Gianni spending his days in this magnificent place. The restaurant itself is located within one of the first floor rooms, which with dim lighting provides an intimate atmoshere. Every detail from the walls to fabrics and decor in general exude refine taste. The plates themselves are Versace items.  Admittedly it wasn´t the idea of a nice meal that made us visit ” The Villa “, rather my curiosity to see what the home of a fashion genious like Gianni looks and feels like from within.

Una vez entras, la elegante estructura cuanta una historia, y no puedo evitar imaginar a Gianni pasando sus días en este magnifico lugar. El restaurante  está ubicado en uno de los salones del primer piso, y con una tenue iluminación proporciona una atmósfera intima. Cada detalle desde las paredes, manteles y decoración en general exudan un gusto refinado. La Vajilla misma está compuesta por elementos Versace. Admitiendo que no fué la idea de una agradable cena lo que nos hizo visitar ” La Villa ” sino mi curiosidad por ver como lucía el que fuera una vez hogar de un genio de la moda como Gianni

Anyways, I wanted to share some outfit photos of what I use for this special evening, (some where taken previously in the afternoon sincetraffic  jam  could cause delays) and I felt in love with this black leather type dress, a bit edgy by material and classic by silhouette, paired with  black and gold pumps with a bit of studds, of course you can´t go wrong with a tweed jacket.

Obviamente Trends Vip es un blog de estilo y quería compartir lo que usé en esta especial velada ( algunas tomas fueron hechas previamente en la tarde tipo 6 pm para evitar el tráfico y llegar a tiempo. Me enamoré de este vestido negro de corte clasico y toque edgy gracias a su textura tipo cuero, pero que gracias a su silueta es perfecto para una ocasión especial, acompañado por tacones negro y dorado con studs;  desde luego no se puede fallar con una chaqueta en tweed.
